Florida: St. Augustine and South Beach, Miami

Finally have the chance to update my blog and keep you all up to date on my travels, so here we go...

We left Charleston and had a pretty long drive day out of South Carolina, across Georgia and into Florida to St. Augustine (the oldest town in USA).

St Augustine is, again, pretty small and full of ''history''....
We stayed for a few hours in the town, and then headed out to camp (just across the other side of the bay you can see in the background on the first pic). That night we played crazy golf, there was even a pirate galleon hole....

The next day was another early start with camp packed down by 8am and we got on the road for yet another long drive day down the I95 to South Beach, Miami.

SB is like another world, its got loads of art deco buildings and the longest white b There were a lot each with bright turquoise seas. You know when you see in films people roller blading in Miami, well thats on Ocean Drive, 3 blocks away from us in South Beach. Last night we went out for an italian meal, came 'home' and had some mojitos before heading off out to the main hostel base for some beer and a massive hostel night out. Clubbing in Miami is everything you imagine it to be. It was a crazy night :D
Today we went down to the beach, and went swimming. The sea was so warm it was lovely! I think the photos explain it all really...



Afterwards we had a wander about and had something to eat then headed back to enjoy our beds for one last night! We wont get real beds again until New Orleans, so its back to the ground again for now!

    The trip has sounded great so far and we're really looking forward to see what you do next.

    Mojitos on a night out in miami sounds great, much cooler than drinking them in a flat in leeds hehe.

    Hope you aren't getting too sunburnt since the weather looks so hot. Wish it was like that in Bish/Leeds. If it was me (helen) i would be lobster coloured right now despite however much sun cream i applied!!
